Question
After installing my 6 inch stove pipe through a 12 inch thimble opening I have a couple inches of "open space" on each side of the pipe. (on the outside of house) This allows moisture, etc into the framework of the house.  How do I close this up?

Answer
Hello Michael, where does the 6" pipe go after it goes into the 12' thimble? does it go into a 6" system or a 12" system?. what type if pipe system are you using? (metal bestos, IIC Excel, Duravent?)they will make a thimble that will work and fit very well to seal the out side out.
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have.
