Chimney & Fireplaces/Chase cover

Question
Hello.  Have a chase cover that needs to be replaced.  Currently a gas fireplace and a secondary gas furnace have exhast pipes that go through the chase cover.  Given that the fireplace is not woodburning, can this be cover with a frame and shingled with the appropriate exhast vents going through the roof?  Thanks for any input you can provide

No, this cannot be framed and covered with shingles. Even the gas venting systems have a minimum of one inch clearance to combustible material. Aside from that, you will want a solid, non combustible cover to shed water away from these vents, framing and shingles will have a greater potential of leaking in the future. good luck.
