Question
Hello Mr. Brooks,

I have a Fireplace CFM Majestic Model "THE REGAL COVE 360DVS3" in the house we recently bought. I have followed the instructions, which says turn the knob to pilot and press it all the way. Then press the ignitor switch. I have pressed the switch hundreds of times. However, I am unable to light the pilot.

Is there something I am missing or doing wrong. Could you please help.

Kind regards,

Answer
Amjad,

A few probabilities, if you hear the gas exiting the valve when you depress the pilot knob, you may have to purge the line. Not knowing the length of the service line, purging is nothing more than allowing the air to exit followed by the gas. This can at times, depending on the length take some time. If you hear nothing like gas exiting the valve when you depress the pilot knob, check the safety valve that will either be located in the service area your appliance valve is in or in the wall or floor within 4' to 6' feet of the fireplace. If its in the service area of the fireplace, it should be on the gas line entering the appliance valve. It should have an inline gate valve that should be turned parallel to the line. Once you've done this, you should hear the gas exiting the appliance valve when you depress that pilot knob. Thanks for asking, good luck.
