Question
I have a majestic zero clearance wood burning fireplace which was installed in 1977. We put vent free logs in it about 10 years ago and it works just fine.
The sides of the FP are steel, the back is firebrick. Is it safe to install refractory liners over the steele?

Its not necessarily a matter of being safe, as its a matter of violating the listing for this particular fireplace. The listed "Majestic" part is the steel panel, not the refractory panel. This is considered a field modification of your unit and is not allowable per the manufacture. Thanks for asking and good luck.
