Subject: Converting Propane Fireplace downstairs to Wood Burning

Question
We have a two story house with two propane fireplaces, vertically in line. The stove pipes are side-by-side. We'd like to convert the downstairs to a wood burning unit; however, the new pipe would be in proximity to the upstairs propane unit.  Is there anything that would preclude us from doing this?

Answer
Michele,

Adequate space for both units to exist in compliance with the terms of there listings and manufactures installation instructions and minimum clearances to combustible materials. Obtain the installation instructions on line that will contain the need measurements and then determine if you have enough room to install within the requirements. Good luck.
