Hi Randy.

We had a wood stove installed a couple years ago. Metalbestos enter through low angle shedroof with standing seam metal. Water is coming in through stovepipe it seems, soaking the ceiling mount that the metabestos rest on and the section of regular stovepipe comgin from the stove feeds into. The water drips through this mount and lands on(and rusts) my woodstove top. It is also dmaging the sheetrock around the ceiling mount. We have sealed, booted, collared, etc. There is a small cap on top of the metabestos. Still during heavey rains, we get water leaking. My contractor and roofer have been back several times but it remains a mystery.

Any thoughts?

If you have an effective flashing and storm collar, you may have water entry above the flashing that runs under the roofing material. You may look in the attic if you can and see if this is a possibility. I wish I could be of more help. Good luck.
