Question
I have a Superior Model GHC-5000N Serial Number 2943 vented fireplace. Lennox does not sell the flame enhancer kit anymore so I want to replace the Gas Logs. I have been told I can block the vent and install a ventless set and be more energy efficent. Can I do this safely and can I buy any vendors (Lowes -- Home Depot, Ect.) gas logs to use safely in this unit?

I'm so glad you asked this question. The answer is no do none of the above. The Superior system is listed and tested for safety with only the original OEM parts. If they no longer support that model, you have only one choice, removal and replacement of the entire unit with an entire new unit. Best of luck to you.
