Question
This might be more of a design question...but have you ever seen a rock / stone fireplace that had built in firewood storage area that was accessed from the outside for loading wood into?? We are planning a new construction and will have a wood burning insert but would really like to be able to load the wood from the outside. Have you ever seen this or do you know someone that might have experiece with this. We will be building out in the country (way out) where there are no building codes. Thanks for any info you can offer!!

There are building codes everywhere. As for an insert appliance that loads from the outside, I haven't heard of this before. I have heard of a wood fired furnace that is installed outside and loads outside. "Googel" wood heaters and dozens of choices pop up. Hope this helps.
