Question
I currently have an existing masonary fireplace and would like to install a vent free lp gas log set. Do you have any recommendations? Is it safe? What could I use to clean the inside of the fireplace with?

Any time you change fuels or appliances NFPA-211 requires a level II inspection be performed for your safety. You can use the links at the bottom of my home page to find an inspector in your area. As for the vent free logs, I'm not a fan. I call them lung vented appliances and feel they put your family at some risk. Yes there acceptable in many states, your included, but not accepted everywhere and for good reason. I would reconsider and look at other options. Good luck to you and your family.
