Question
The pipe attached to the outter wall of the house at one end and to the furnace at the other end leaks water.  Utility compnay checked the furnace and said that "it is a chimney flue problem"  Questions:  is this a likely scenario and if so what needs to be done?  What is a ball park range for said repair(s)  thank you

The water entry can be the result of any number of issues. I recommend contracting with a qualified fireplace inspector to perform an inspection of your chimney system. The remedy can be simple or complex. I wish I could look for myself and answer your cost question.
