Chimney & Fireplaces/Glass for fireplace

Question
Moved into house that has old fireplace.  The glass broke, and I have nothing to indicate who manufacturer is and which kind of glass to replace it with. The model #/manufac.# is HEVAC fireplace furnace Mfg. Ltd. model 7000dyn, max.input 27000 BTU manifold press 3.5" WC.   The glass itself is not tempered, I know that.  Called a glass place, and ceramic is significantly more money to replace than tempered, ($50/sq. ft) I am wondering how to figure out if I can put either glass(tempered or ceramic) in there safely as I have no manual and cannot find manufacturer.

Answer
Hello Katie, I am not sure what you have you say a furnace in a fireplace? missing glass? with out seeing it I really do not have an answer for you.
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they might be able to help
