Chimney & Fireplaces/frozen flue

Question
After this last ice storm, the flue to my wood burning fireplace is frozen shut.  Is there a way to get it opened besides waiting for warmer weather?

Answer
Hello Ann, you could try a drop light, hair dryer to warm the damper up but you will have the same problem again if you do not stop the water/ice from coming down the chimney, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
