Question
I have a martine industries model LF 36 BM fireplace was put in around 1983 and I need a replacement firebrick panel in the back of fire box and martin went bank rupt in 2002  so how do I get the right replacement and know it is the right diminsions when I get it?

You are correct, Martin Fireplace Manufacturing went out of business some time ago. The dirty little secret about factory built fireplaces is that when listed and tested parts are no longer available, removal and replacement is many times your only option. Keeping in mind that your fireplace was manufactured in 1883 at the latest, your unit is already 25+ years old. at the outside any warranty would be expired at this time. How much effort and or dollars do you wish to invest in a fireplace that has an expired warranty? I would recommend removal and replacement and you will feel much better about your decision.
