Chimney & Fireplaces/new house with gas fireplace

Question
We just bought a house (Have not moved in yet) that has
a gas fireplace.  There is no propane tank or anything installed for immdeiate use.  All that is currently there is the line into the fireplace.  What do we need to do in order to get it into use?  By a tank? Rent a tank? Bury the tank? Vent?

I've been trying to read online and it hasn't been clear. What is the first thing to do?  The house is brand new.  Do the people who hook up the tank/install the tank ensure that the hook-up inside the house works as well?

What can we estimate the costs for it all.  The room is about about 18 by 16 and the house is 1460 sq. ft.

Thank You!

Answer
Kevin,

I trust the manufactures installation instruction manual was also present for your new appliance. If your fireplace is gas only, the first thing that must be done is to provide the fuel. If your home requires propane, call the suppler and they can help with tank locations and code requirements for your specific area. Ask the fireplace installer if the orifices have been installed for propane use. I cant help you with a cost estimate as that is not my area of expertise. I hope I have been some help. Good luck.
