Chimney & Fireplaces/wood stove stack installation

Question
I have a wood burning stove outside in a florida room. It has a 6 inch rear smoke pipe. I purchased a 6 inch elbow and stack. The existing stack is at the ceiling and is 4 inches. I purchased two reducers 6-5 and 5-4. My problem is how do I connect from the rear of the stove up. Does the elbow go into the rear of the stove inside fitting or an outside fitting. As I extended the 6 inch stack up I didn't have the crimped end of the 6 inch pipe to marry up to the 6 inch end of the reducer. Seems simple but the stove end and the reducer are both the wide 6 inch ends and I need a crimped end to make the connections complete.

Answer
Hello Dave, you can not use this chimney. You can not reduce a solid flue unit. either install a 6" all the way to the top or a 4" wood stove to the existing chimney. you can buy a crimper at any HVAC supply store and the crimped end goes towards the stove. I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have.
