Chimney & Fireplaces/Converting gas to wood burning fireplace

Question
I have a masonry fireplace that was originally designed to burn wood.  I converted to a gas log fireplace about 10 years ago.  Wish to convert back to wood burning.  Is it as simple as removing the gas logs, sand, embers, etc. and replacing with a new grate.  Can I use the existing gas starter pipe?

Thanks,

Answer
Hello Ken, if you remove every thing and have the gas line checked (that it is a gas starter)you maybe able to then I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
