Question
I am replacing my old outside liner for a 2100 degree one old one is 1600 and seem to have a problem removing the old one.I bought a new one ( sellkirk ) which you connect and twist. But the old one seems to be rivited together is this possible and how can i take it apart with out breaking my neck.It is about 25ft high.

Answer
So you are actually removing pipe that is together.

The pipe is screwed together somewhere. I have never seen chimney pipe riveted together. Somewhere on that chimney the sections should be screwed. As for how to take it down...Carefully is the word.

Make sure you have some friends and ladders/scaffolding to make it safer. at that height you need to be careful. A Picture of whats there now would greatly help me out as well.

If you want to take some pics please send them to me at fireplaceandstoveman@gmail.com

I hope this helped you out.
