Question
what does one do when a contractor adds a second floor on a house and needs to raise the existing fireplace flue, but the existing flue is nolonger produced. can you mix match pipe. for example, majestic md42 needs 4 feet of pipe can you use a different manufacturers pipe if it fits??????

Answer
Hello Jason, you can not mix different pipes, make your own pipe, alter their pipe, if you can not find the pipe you need then the entire fireplace and chimney must be replaced.
each manufacturer test, lists and works with their own system 2 different pipes would not fit and you can not alter them, you will burn your home down, do not do this.
