Question
i have a dovre stove model 700. it seems to burn alot of wood. it doesnt seem to shut down when i close the damper. could you give me some suggestions on what to check, this stove is about 10 years old and hardly ever used.....thanks

Answer
From what i can tell the unit has an air control built on the left side of the unit to control the burn.  If that doesn't seem to control the burning then I would have someone come out and check it out.

Another thing could be that the gaskets on the door might need replacing. If the door isn't making an air tight seal anymore then when your burning it could be pulling air in through there, and the result would look like what your experiencing now. No air control.

Hope this helps.
