Chimney & Fireplaces/Coal stove pipe through fireplace damper

Question
I have a coal stove with a 5" flue pipe, and want to install it on the raised hearth of my fireplace.  I have a standard 8x12 flue, and need to go through the damper.  I was wondering if I make a plate to replace the damper, can I just have a ss thimble or a cast iron 5" thimble screwed to the plate?    Any idea of where to get a thimble like that, and would that be OK?

Answer
I would suggest speaking with a WETT certified person in your local area. I advise this because they can then see what you are planning to do and they will know what the local code is to make sure everything is done correctly.

This would be the best course of action.
