Question Hi I have a stone fireplace that goes from the floor to the ceiling and it goes out through the roof also.lately with the bad rain my wooden floors have become wet from water dripping off the stone, i cannot seem to see where water is coming in.can you help or can you recommend who i should get to help me.I am totally at a loss.Hope you can help and thanks in advance.
Answer I would recommend a roofer to come look at the chimney chase (box that the chrimney runs in on the roof) and make sure that everything is flashed off properly. Meaning that no water is coming in where the chase meets the roof.
It sounds to me like there is a roof leak somewhere and the water is coming in.
Hope this helps.
