Question
i have a older timberline wood stove that has a 8 inch opening on the top for stove pipe i am wondering if this can be reduced to 6 inches to exit out my chimney or if the whole stove pipe and chimney need to be the full 8 inches any help would be great thanks

Answer
Hello Joseph, you can not reduce the pipe of a wood stove so either buy a new stove (with 6" collar) or install a new chimney (with 8")
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
