Question
We currently have a chimney between our living room and our dining room. the fireplace is open on the side of the dinging room. Is it possible to break the back side of the chimney, so we could use the same chimney for another fireplace from the living room side? Is there any concern about the structure of the chimney?
Answer
Hi Michael,
This is not possible. You will not have enough flue cross-sectional area for this fireplace to work properly.
