Chimney & Fireplaces/smoke smell thick in room where new flue liner installed

Question
We had a house fire because of small cracks in fireplace chimney. Had new flue liner installed by professionals. The room now smells of smoke each time the fireplace is lit.  The smell is really thick. We do not want to call the installers of the flue liner because they missed the cracks that started the fire last year, when we had the fireplace inspected. Any suggestion would greatly be appreciated.

Answer
Hello Stan,  I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help. The liner might not be sized or installed correctly, they might have missed some thing.
Hope this helps
James
