Question
Can I connect 8 inch stove pipe to 10 inch double wall chimney? My concern is if it will effect the up draft at all?
In the province I'm in. There is a strict rule that you cannot do that. I would highly advise not to do so as it is a fire hazard. If you have 8" Chimney then I would stick with running 8" chimney.
If you have 8" Chimney connected to 10" then the draft on the system will be terrible as well.
