Question
If i remove my ventilator fireplace and install my century wood stove can i run my original mark 700 original chimney if its mint condition?I'm planning to use super vent if not.question 2 If i use the wood stove in the cavity you advise 1 inch air space between 24 gauge metal for clearances or can i cement board or fireproof drywall and ceramic tile to get the same 66 percent additional clearances to the wall thanks

Answer
1) The chimney that must be used for a woodstove is Black double wall or single wall pipe from the stove to the ceiling, then S2100 Rated chimney the rest of the way. If the chimney was installed on a fireplace before then 99% of the time it cannot be used for the wood stove.

2)The one inch air space MUST be there in order to get the reduction on the clearances. and the spacers must also be non-combustible as well.

Hope this helps.
