Question
Hi Steve,

Guess John is busy.  This site instructed me to ask another EXPERT my blower question.  The two emails already sent are below.

Thank you,

Duane

Hello,

You recently posted a question to john in category Chimney & Fireplaces:

QUESTION: Hi John,

I have an old fireplace insert that has hurricane etched in the left hand door.  I think this might be a Timberline stove.  The insert was given to me by one of my drivers two years ago and he has no idea what make the stove is either.  This morning the bottom blower fan quit.  I checked the web for a fan assembly for Timberline or Hurricane and found nothing.  Perhaps I could get something close and modify it but I really would like to find a factory replacement.

What is your expert opinion?

Many thanks,

Duane Corts

ANSWER: im afraid thats just not enough to go on as far finding out what type of insert you have, theres just so many. now ill do some homework and see if i can find some sort of universal fan replacement but like you said the one made for that insert would be the best

QUESTION: Hi John,

Its 16 below zero here in Colorado.  I measured the blower assembly this morning and here are the measurements:

The opening at the bottom of the stove is 21.5 inches long, 4 inches high.  The motor blower including motor is 17 inches long total and just the fan is 12 inches long.  The blower assembly fits at the bottom of the stove and slides underneath.  The grill assembly that the blower fits inside has an angle.  Hope the diagram helps...

Answer
Now I am fairly certain that the Hurricane brand is made by a manufacturer that has gone out of business. What I will try to do is see who the manufacturer was and get back to you.

What I would like for you to do is email me so i can email you back what I find out.

My Email:  fireplaceandstoveman@gmail.com

I will get back to you in 2 days for sure.

Thanks Duane!
