Question
I have a wood burning prefab fireplace.the previous owner of the home installed gas log's.there isn't gas in the neighborhood .i  wont be having a tank installed.is it possible to have the gas line removed the hole patched or fixed?i would like to burn wood in it .thanks.

Answer
Hello Jeff, I would call the manufacture of the fireplace and ask them what is involved, I would say remove the pipe, logs and  replace the panel that was damaged.
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
