Chimney & Fireplaces/Gas Fireplace

Question
Just moved into a home with a gas fireplace.  The inspector stated that I need to seal the hole around the gas pipe coming into the fireplace.  What product would I use for that, and how long after I seal it would I need to wait to use the fireplace?
Thanks

Answer
If your fireplace is vented through the wall and IF that's where it needs to be sealed then I would suggest high temperature silicone. as that is what we use.

Now If i had a picture to look at that shows what the inspector has mentioned then I can help out a little more.

Hope this helps.
