Question
Hello,
I have recently purchased a home that has the martin industries model DV2H gas fireplace.  Previously the home was connected to natural gas and I now have propane.  Seeing that martin industries is bankrupt it is making it difficult to obtain a conversion kit for the burner. My question is if you would happen to know the company that made the burners for martin industries that they put in these fireplaces. Hoping that I can get in touch with them to get a new kit.

You should start with a professional inspection of the gas fireplace. NFPA-211 requires such an inspection at the sale or transfer of property. Please use the links at the bottom of my home page at www.brooks-hearth.com to find an inspector offering these services. This same professional will be able to determine if the valve is a "Robert Shaw" or a "Sit" valve. at this point making the necessary changes is quite simple. The valve will be one of the two I mentioned, its something that could have changed back and forth in production as well. Best of luck and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
