Chimney & Fireplaces/Outside Air entering house through gas fireplace

Question
We have two gas fireplaces in our home and they vent to the exterior of the house.  During the windy season (typically Oct.-March) when the winds exceed 20mph we notice the outside air entering the house around the gas fireplace insert (you can actually sit next to the fireplace and feel the air blowing in). There is a fan on the fireplace as well to distribute the warm air.  Is there anyway to improve the vent on the exterior of the house to prevent the outside air from entering through the fireplace?  Could the vent be installed improperly?  It just seems odd that this much air would enter the home if installed/manufactured correctly. Manufacturer and model is Lennox direct vent elite series  Thank you in advance.

Answer
Hello Robert, as with any appliance you must follow the manufactures instructions for installation, where they followed? Has some one checked? it does not sound like it was. I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
