Chimney & Fireplaces/Wood burning inset stove

Question
Hi. I'm installing an inset stove (sits flush with the wall) into an existing fire place. I was unsure if it is acceptable to leave the exposed brickwork or does it need to be lined with fireproof material between the fire and the brickwork. The fire sides sit against the brickwork. I'd assumed the brickwork was a fireproof material.

Thanks, chris.

Answer
Hello Chris, you must follow the installation instructions for that insert, they will tell you "clearance to combustibles" and brick is not combustible, and check with your local building department.
was the insert lined to the top and insulated (NFPA code) nation wide or did you just slide it in VERY DANGEROUS
