Chimney & Fireplaces/gas fireplace valve

Question
I have a Robert Shaw valve in my gas fireplace.  It seems to be burning a lot hotter this season, with a higher flame.  I don't see an adjustment for flame intensity.  There is no thermostat, it's simply on or off.  Is there an adjustment on this valve?  It's old, probably made around 1990.

Adjustments to the valve can be tricky. I would recommend having a professional take a look at it. There may have been a change in the gas pressure to your appliance since last year or the valve may be failing altogether. Your appliance was listed and tested for a certain limit of BTU input and and any escalation above that can very serious. Have this looked at and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
