Chimney & Fireplaces/woodstove leak

Question
We have a woodstove and it leaks  water at the elbow joint.  I think it is condensation that builds up.  It only happens when we light a fire. Should we use a sealant?  What should the temperature rating be?

Thanks,
Don

Answer
Hello Don, is there a rain cap on top? if not start there, if so then you might need to replace the pipes, as far as temp of the stove and or pipe you need to refer tot he owners manual of both.
Also you could have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Hope this helps
James
