Chimney & Fireplaces/Flue Cracks

Question
I recently had my chimney swept and there are hairline cracks in the flue tiles that appear to extend all the way down. I understand there are ceramic spray on applications that are reported to bring a flue back to standard.  Would I be wasting my time and Money or do these ceramic spray applications work?

Answer
Hello Hans, I will look into this for you and get the web page and get back to you. I do a sister product called Smoke Tite and it is used in the smoke chamber (the area above the damper to the first flue tile)and it works great. I do recommend Thermo Create (what you are asking about) all the time (I have a buddy that does it in up state CT so I know it works in most cases (no lose flue tiles) I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to tell you how bad it really is (the system should have no cracks or gaps on the flue tile or seams).
