Chimney & Fireplaces/Smoking Chimney

Question
My chimney went on fire about a month ago.  After this I cleaned the chimney.  Since then when I light the fire all the smoke comes back out and fills the room.  There is a big old brick open fire at the back of this and the smoke is coming out here too into the opposite room.

What do you think it could be and how do I fix it?

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Denise

Answer
Hello Denise, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help. It sounds like you have a blockage or real damage to the chimney. do not use it until it is checked.
