Question
I am installing a Class A STAINLESS INNER STAINLESS OUTTER INSULATED CHIMNEY WHILE RENOVATING MY HOUSE. IT IS GOING TO BE ON MY BACK WALL ENCLOESD IN A FRAMED WOOD CHASE. MY QUESTION IS .... CAN I OFFSET THE PIPE USING A 45 DEGREE OFFSET. THE LOCATION OF THE FIREPLACE WILL REQUIRE THIS AND I WANT TO MAKE SURE IT IS OK TO USE 45 DEGREE OFFSETS. PLEASE ADVISE.... THANKS

Hi Michael,

45 degree elbows are not allowed in the chimney sections of solid-fuel venting serving a wood-burning fireplace in the United States.  The maximum offset allowed is 30 degrees.

45 degree elbows ARE allowed when venting direct-vent gas fireplaces.
