we have just re opened our fire place we had to put 3mtr on the chimley because the roof is thatch, but we are getting quite a lot of smoke in the room, can you help

Hello Robert, I am not familiar with chimney's and Thatch roofs and do not know what "3mtr" is. but smoking fireplaces are usually caused by negative pressure try opening a door or window if smoke goes up then it is negative pressure you should also have it checked by a local sweep that knows these types of units.
