Chimney & Fireplaces/chimney rebuild - roof up

Question
Hello,
A local mason recently inspected my chimney and said it needs to be rebuild from the roof up.  He would like to charge me $1500 for the brickwork, mortar, flue tiles, flashing, crown/wash and chimney cap.  An entire rebuild.  I have placed calls for 2 other estimates, but my messages have not been returned.  So I'm hoping you can tell me if this is a reasonable charge, or if I should keep looking?  Thank you very much.

Answer
Hello Sara, I do not do chimney re builds so I do not know if it is a good price or not, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help, they might also do chimney rebuilds, and yes get at least 2-3 estimates
