Chimney & Fireplaces/Controlled combustion air

Question
Hi

I'm designing a unique fireplace that requires very low air flow through the fireplace.  For the design to work I need the flames to be very controlled, and I'm having a problem getting enough combustion air in but still keeping the amount of air "flowing" low.  Even a slight breeze messes up my design.  Is there any way I can get fresh air in at a very low or at least controlled way ?

Answer
Hello Anthony, I am not sure what you are building or how safe it would be, they make "air intakes" that bring fresh air in from out side to feed the fireplace, maybe that would work?
either way I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, before you use it to give it a once over.
