Chimney & Fireplaces/chimney cleaning

Question
I have an oil-fired furnace which is about four years old. NO fireplace. My chimney was last cleaned when the liner was installed--about seven years ago--no noticeable smoke or odor. The chimney sweep who put the liner in keeps bugging me to come back and do a sweep. What do you recommend?

Answer
Hello Bob, NFPA states "chimneys should be checked every year" most Stainless Steel Liners must be inspected every year to keep up their warranties. you may not need a cleaning but it should be looked at.
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
