Chimney & Fireplaces/preway gas fire place

Question
We are buying a house that has a preway Model#BE41LAP gas fire place We would like to know what it would take to change it to a wood burner

Answer
Hello Bud, I would say the Preway will have to come out (gas line disconnected, by a plumber). Then the fireplace would have to be checked to be sure it is safe, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help. You might want to have the chimney inspected before you buy to make sure it does not need thousands of $$$ of work.
Good luck James
