Chimney & Fireplaces/smoke in house

Question
I have a brick home built in 1982=has a pre-fab dual opening-doors are glass=1 side in family room other in formal setting room-smoke back fills house whenever fire is lit,have tried multiple solutions.{crack windows-turn off fans etc.}Do you have any suggestions-would love to use fireplace???

The first thing I would suggest is to invest in an NFPA-211 level II inspection. Please use the links at the bottom of my home page at www.brooks-hearth.com to help find a qualified inspector that performs these inspections.

The cause of what you describe can be any number things from fireplace location, height, offsets, fans, wind load, trees, etc... I hope this helps and thanks for asking.
