Chimney & Fireplaces/Strong smelly dripping at flue connection

Question
Hi James we have an old tile firebox and have noticed that when we burn some green wood we tend to get this dripping where the flue connects and it gives off an aweful smell.  Can you tell me please why it is dripping back down and out the connection of the flue while the fire is burning?

Answer
Hello Anne, it sounds like you have third stage creosote dripping from a pipe connection? first if it is then the pipes are not installed correctly consult the owners manual, second do not burn "green wood" this will produce more. Fourth, you are not burning your stove hot enough consult the owners manual.
Fifth, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
Keep me posted
James
