Question
Hey james i'm a chimney sweep down in houston. Got myself in a bit of a bind. I got a customer called me because her cap was missing after hurricane. Went looked at it and noticed chimney was a bit short but no big deal I figured been here this long must draft okay even if it is a little short. Anyway got her a cap and today got a call that she wants more flue pipe because apparently she had an extra 4 foot added years back because it wasn't drafting properly. Never mentioned that before now and pipe was up above chase by one foot. Here is the kicker the fireplace is a older model heatilator td46bi and they don't make flue for it anymore. I was able to get a cap but can't find flue anywhere. Any idea where I might find one 4ft section because this lady is really upset and driving me nuts about this flue section.

thanks,

Answer
Hello Matthew, you should join  the  National Chimney Sweep Guild, (www.ncsg.org) we have an E-mail list you could post to the list and if any one had that pipe you could contact them (sorry I can not post from out side the list).
As far as your customer give her the info and let her find the pipe on line or through  stores.
good luck I hope you join the NCSG many benefits also are you Certified as a sweep? (www.csia.org)
