Question
I have a gas fireplace. How should I clean the soot off the OUTSIDE of the Chimney at the top? Same as inside? Hard brush and detergent solution? I have used a light solution of bleach/water successfully to clean moss off the brick. Should I consider that?

Answer
Hello William, I am wondering why you have so much soot? has the unit been checked by some one that services gas logs? I would.
then start with just water (& mild detergent) or some thing just for that type of soot (with out knowing what kind of chimney you have)
