Question
We live in a new (4 Yr. old) home and enjoy our propane gas fireplace.  At the top of the chimney it has become very sooty and looks terrible.  What is causing it...how can we fix it?

Answer
Hello Chris, is the inside of the chimney/logs sooty? the unit may need an adjustment from who ever put it in and a cleaning.
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
