Question
I need a little help diagnosing a problem with a natural gas fireplace.  I have Century free standing ventless fireplace that doesn't seem to be working right.  I am able to turn it on but after a few minutes it automatically turns off.  I believe this unit has a safety feature that turns it off if their is not enough oxygen in the room.  I was thinking it could be that or possibly the thermocouple.  I have not been able to find any owners manual for the unit and have not found much info on that brand on the internet. Any insight would be appreciated.

Ventless appliances are often referred to as "lung vented" appliances. Any malfunction is to be taken quite seriously and use should be discontinued immediately. I recommend that in light of no information being available, even on line, you replace this unit for safety. I would further recommend a vented appliance. Good luck.
