Chimney & Fireplaces/gas Fireplace problem

Question
The extension piece connected to my built in Gas valve and comes out the brick is missing.  I think it fell behind the brick face, and into the wall. It's the piece I connect my key to turn on the gas and start my fireplace.  Do they make replacement extension pieces or do I have to cut the stone to go looking for it?

Dave,

Any chimney sweep that orders parts from a number of suppliers could get you a key. Additionally, you "Google" (fireplace gas key) and find several as well. This wont be to difficult. I would suggest measuring the overall length you need and bypassing the loose extension. Good luck.
