Is it ok to use gas logs in a fireplace chimney that has cracked flue tiles?

Hello Mike, when changing the use type of a fireplace or flue the entire chimney should be brought up the currant code. even tho you are using Gas it still produces heat and floating sparks.
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
